Women entrepreneurs rewriting the stories of extreme poverty and gender inequality.

Women entrepreneurs living in rural poverty are facing two major barriers to business opportunity: lack of education and lack of capital.

We set out to change that.

At The Zena Launchpad, we believe that women are the change makers in their communities. We provide female entrepreneurs in rural Uganda with the tools they need to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

Through our unique debt-free model, women entrepreneurs under the poverty line access the start-up capital and holistic education then need to start their own businesses.

Our goal is to build lasting financial resilience. Zena women are able to create income for their families and jobs in their communities.

Our Model

Providing debt-free capital, education, and mentorship to female entrepreneurs in rural Uganda to break the cycle of poverty.

We believe that educated, women business owners are uniquely positioned to address systemic and pervasive community issues.

Innovators, Problem solvers, Leaders. At the Zena Launch Pad, we are harnessing the power of female powered economies.

The Zena Launch Pad activates women entrepreneurs to confidently take the reigns as business leaders to pioneer transformation in their communities.

Meet our Graduates

Salima’s Story

Meet Salima, owner of the first Laundromat in Kamuli.

“This program has helped transform women’s lives in our community. At first, I did not know what they did. Then I saw a woman in my community who had been living in very bad conditions for a long time and she had built a house for her family by the time she completed the program. I was so happy for the woman and extremely thankful to the organisation. The whole community had thought that nothing good could happen to this woman.”
